The Madras High Court on Friday dismissed as withdrawn a PIL petition that sought a route to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to revoke the UA certificates — which permits kids aged beneath 12, too, to look at a film with parental steering — issued to Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer.
The litigant’s counsel selected to withdraw the case after the primary Division Bench of Chief Justice S.V. Gangapurwala and Justice P.D. Audikesavalu needed to know what was the purpose in listening to the case after a fortnight because the film’s launch, by when lakhs of youngsters would have watched it.
In his affidavit, the petitioner M.L. Ravi had contended that the film had a number of violent scenes that had been inappropriate for kids.
