North Korean chief Kim Jong Un’s sister slammed Seoul for current navy drills close to the border. Kim Yo Jong slammed the “undisguised battle sport (and) an inexcusable and express provocation that aggravates the scenario.” Kim Yo Jong, who is a key regime spokesperson, also dubbed the drills “suicidal hysteria, for which they must maintain horrible catastrophe.” The warning came after Seoul resumed live-fire drills on border islands and by the demilitarised zone that divides the Korean Peninsula. Kim Yo also warned that if Seoul’s exercises breach the North’s sovereignty “our armed forces will instantly perform its mission”.
