Hosts India will bear a week-long specialised drag-flick and goalkeeping camp from Wednesday on the SAI Centre in Bengaluru as a part of their preparation for subsequent month’s FIH males’s World Cup.

The camp, to conclude on December 20, will likely be held beneath the watchful eyes of double Olympic champions from the Netherlands Bram Lomans and Dennis Van De Pol.

While Lomans will work with the Indian drag glints, his countrymate Van De Pol will fine-tune the goalkeepers forward of the sport’s showpiece to be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to 29.

The specialised camp will likely be part of the two-week-long nationwide teaching camp, which began on Monday.

The nationwide camp will likely be attended by 33 core probables.

“We are grateful to Hockey India and SAI for organising this particular drag-flick and goalkeeping camp forward of the World Cup. This is a superb alternative to get world-class specialised teaching and it’ll actually assist present the fitting instruments and techniques for our drag glints and goalies,” Indian chief coach Graham Reid stated in a launch.

“This is going to be an important camp for us. There are a few critical aspects of our game that needs some improvement on the basis of the assessment of the Australia tour.

“The players were given one week’s break after returning from Adelaide and I believe they will be physically and mentally fresh when they report for the camp,” added Reid.

India will depart on December 27 for Rourkela, the place they are going to start their World Cup marketing campaign towards England on January 13.
