India have been positioned in a troublesome Pool B within the males’s hockey competitors on the 2024 Paris Games.
the International Hockey Federation (FIH) revealed the swimming pools of the Paris 2024 Olympic hockey tournaments after the completion of the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers.
Eight-time champions India, who clinched a historic bronze medal in Tokyo after a hiatus of 41 years, have been clubbed with reigning Olympic champions and world no.2 Belgium, mighty Australia, Rio Games gold medallist Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland.
The Indians are presently ranked third on this planet, behind Belgium and the Netherlands, and so they had discovered it robust to beat Tokyo silver medallist Australia and Argentina up to now.
Men
Pool A: Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, France and South Africa
Pool B: Belgium, India, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland
In the ladies’s competitors in Paris, there shall be no illustration from India, who completed a creditable fourth in Tokyo, as they did not qualify, having completed fourth after dropping to Japan 0-1 within the Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi on Friday.

Pool A: Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Japan, China and France

The collaborating groups have been allotted to their respective swimming pools on the premise of the FIH World Rankings at 23:59 CET on 21 January 2024 and within the following order:
Pool A: groups ranked 1st, 4th, fifth, eighth, ninth and twelfth
Pool B: groups ranked 2nd, third, sixth, seventh, tenth and eleventh
The 12 groups per gender have certified for the Olympic Games both as hosts, winner of their continental qualifier or prime three finisher of their FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier.
The prime 4 groups from every pool in each males’s and ladies’s competitions will qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Paris Olympics shall be held from July 26 until August 11 and hockey competitions will begin from July 27 and finish on August 9.
