Ex-Hockey Coach Restrained from Publishing Players’ Confidential Details

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday briefly restrained Sjoerd Marijne, former coach of the Indian Women’s hockey workforce and e book firm HarperCollins from publishing confidential particulars about gamers within the Dutchman’s new e book.

“..until the following date of listening to, an advert interim injunction is handed restraining the defendants from publishing the e book containing parts (of confidential info of ladies gamers)” Justice Amit Bansal ordered while posting the matter for the November 18 hearing.

The court was dealing with a plea moved by Hockey India against Marijne and HarperCollins Publishers India Private Limited over the alleged violation of the code of conduct in the memoir authored by the dutch tactician titled “Will Power: The Inside Story of the Incredible Turnaround in Indian Women’s Hockey” which isn’t but launched.

During the listening to, Justice Bansal relied on a September 19 order, during which the courtroom heard the enchantment of girl hockey participant Gurjit Kaur who challenged the discharge of the e book.

In her enchantment, Kaur alleged that the e book accommodates some confidential info that was shared by her with Marijne in confidence when he was the coach.

The participant identified that publishing these particulars on her medical situation will breach her proper to privateness as effectively.

Dutch tactician Marijne performed a key position in guiding the Rani Rampal-led Indian girls’s hockey workforce to a historic fourth-place end on the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
