West Ham named former Real Madrid and Spain coach Julen Lopetegui as its new supervisor on Thursday to exchange the departing David Moyes.
Lopetegui is returning to administration for the primary time since he left Wolverhampton three days earlier than the 2023-24 season started after 9 months in that job.
“I really feel that we have now a implausible platform,” Lopetegui said in a club statement. “The previous few years have been excellent years to have this base, in fact, however my ambition as a coach is all the time to be higher and higher, to realize extra and larger goals and to encourage and enhance the gamers, the staff, and to compete as a result of soccer is about this — to compete. We are very formidable about this.”
Moyes leaves at the end of his contract after four and a half years with West Ham, where he won the Europa Conference League last year. West Ham struggled for form in the second half of this season, winning only four Premier League games since January and finishing ninth.
