The Rohit Sharma-led Indian workforce consolidated its prime place within the World Test Championship rankings following its 4-1 collection win over England.

India, following their innings and 64-run victory in Dharamsala on March 9, improved their proportion factors from 64.58 to 68.51 after 9 matches.

India have gained six, misplaced two and drawn one match within the present World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

New Zealand, with 60 proportion factors, are at second spot.

Despite missing a number of frontline gamers and beginning the five-match collection with a loss within the first Test at Hyderabad, India bounced again remarkably to decimate England.

“The victory by an innings and 64 runs in Dharamsala helped them gain 12 crucial WTC points, taking their tally to 74. This has lifted their point percentage from 64.58 to 68.51,” ICC stated in an announcement.

India had jumped from second to first spot on the WTC desk earlier this week after New Zealand misplaced to Australia by 172 runs within the opening Test at Wellington.

Australia are third on the desk with 59.09 proportion factors.

England are at eighth spot with 17.5 proportion factors following the collection loss to India.
