The accused, Shailesh Thakre, allegedly used Rs 44 lakh deposited into his checking account by the pacer for purchasing a property in Nagpur metropolis to buy a industrial block in his identify as a substitute, an official mentioned. Thakre is but to be arrested whereas an FIR was registered towards him on fees of dishonest and felony breach of belief final week.
Economic Offence Wing (EoW) officers on Sunday searched the home of Thakre positioned in Koradi space of town and seized property-related paperwork, he mentioned.
“Thakre has two financial institution accounts. One account has a stability of Rs 54,000 whereas the opposite account has no cash. Police are contemplating attaching the property of Thakre,” he added.
As per the First Information Report, Yadav, a resident of Koradi area, had deposited money in Thakre’s bank account for purchasing a commercial block in a cooperative society located near Gandhi Sagar Lake in the city.
However, Thakre purchased the identified property in his name. When Yadav learnt about the fraud, he asked Thakre to transfer the plot in his name but the latter refused and also didn’t return the money, the official said.
