Indian batter Shubman Gill will not take the sphere on Monday after hurting his proper index finger on the second day of the second Test towards England right here.

The 24-year-old, who was the top-scorer for India with a 147-ball 104 within the second innings, suffered the harm whereas fielding on Saturday.

“Shubman Gill hurt his right index finger while fielding on Day 2. He won’t be taking the field today,” Indian crew administration mentioned in an announcement.

A significant member within the slip cordon, Gill had taken 4 catches throughout England’s first innings.

In his absence, Sarfaraz Khan is on the sphere on day 4.
