The survey revealed that 44% of Delhi residents or their household/employees/business have used bike taxis at least one time in 2022-23, with 31% of them saying that the swap over to electrical bike taxis is inflicting inconvenience with fewer bikes out there

At least 31% of Delhi residents really feel inconvenienced by the necessary swap to electrical bikes, a LocalCircles survey has discovered.

The survey acquired over 10,000 responses from residents of Delhi. A complete 69% respondents had been males, whereas 31% respondents had been girls.

In November 2023, the Delhi Government issued a notification known as the Delhi Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme 2023 underneath which solely electrical bike taxis will likely be allowed to ply within the nationwide capital. The Central Government on January 22 issued an advisory notification to state governments permitting bikes to function legally as contract carriages in India .

THE SURVEY

The survey requested Delhi residents: ‘Is the rule that all bike taxis must be electric causing any inconvenience to you, your family, staff and business?’

Of the ten,979 responses acquired, 31% said “yes, it is causing inconvenience”; 13% said “no, it is not causing any inconvenience as we are not using alternate transport”; whereas 56% said the query is “not applicable” (I, household, employees or business don’t use bike taxis).

The survey revealed that 44% of Delhi residents or their household/employees/business have used bike taxis at least one time in 2022-23, with 31% of them saying that the swap over to electrical bike taxis is inflicting inconvenience with fewer bikes out there.

The survey was performed by way of LocalCircles platform and all individuals had been validated residents who needed to be registered with LocalCircles to take part on this survey.
