A person was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old daughter of his live-in accomplice in Nagpur metropolis of Maharashtra over a interval of 1 12 months, police stated on Sunday. The 37-year-old accused is a resident of the Wathoda space of the town, they stated.
“The accused had been living with his 32-year-old live-in partner and her daughter from the first marriage since October 2022. He started sexually assaulting the minor whenever her mother stepped out for work,” an official from Hudkeshwar police station within the metropolis stated.
He indulged within the crime for the previous one 12 months and threatened the sufferer of dire penalties, because of which she didn’t reveal about it to anybody, he stated.
However, the woman lastly mustered braveness and narrated the incident to her mom just lately, following which they approached the police and lodged a criticism in opposition to him, he added.
A case of rape and prison intimidation was registered in opposition to the accused underneath Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
