At a programme organised by the A.P. Pollution Control Board on the event of World Environment Day right here on Wednesday, he stated it was essential to comply with the ban on single-use plastic and carry a fabric bag as an alternative. “When someone says pollution, we only think of industrial pollution, but there is also pollution from the food waste. We should be aware that 4,000 litres of water goes into growing the food a person consumes for one meal and hence prevent wastage,” he stated.

Urging folks to plant as many saplings as doable, Mr. Sreedhar stated the Board had launched on-line monitoring of air, water air pollution, on-line waste administration techniques, developed e-governance, upgraded current laboratories, performed seminars, workshops on numerous subjects for the general public.

Talking in regards to the achievements, Mr. Sreedhar stated: “The board has installed Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Index, the data of which is analysed and necessary control measures are being adopted by the board to maintain the air quality. Similarly, Real Time Noise Monitoring Systems have also been installed in cities.”

In non-attainment cities, those who didn’t match the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for greater than 5 years, the Board had give you micro motion plans, as a part of which hotspots have been recognized and strategies got to mitigate air pollution, he stated, including that the transportation of waste from industries could possibly be tracked by GPS.
