The violence broke out on February 8 after the demolition of the madrasa in Banbhoolpura

Curfew was lifted completely from the riot-hit Banbhoolpura space of Haldwani Tuesday morning, 12 days after the restrictions had been first clamped following violence over the demolition of an “illegal” madrasa.

Curfew was lifted with impact from 5 am, based on an official order.

During the times the curfew remained in pressure, the administration gave leisure for various durations.

The violence broke out on February 8 after the demolition of the madrasa in Banbhoolpura. Locals hurled stones and petrol bombs at municipal employees and police on the day, forcing many personnel to hunt refuge at a police station, which the mob then set on hearth.

In the violence, six rioters had been killed and greater than 100 folks, together with police personnel and mediapersons, had been injured, based on the police.

Sixty-eight folks have thus far been arrested in reference to the violence. Their properties have additionally been connected.
