Bhimthadi horse | Return of a native

The six horses come galloping alongside the low-roofed steady constructing in Baramati, Maharashtra—a black stallion and a bay-coloured mare, adopted by a white and a dun-skinned pair. Pelts gleaming, manes flowing, tails flying and hooves pounding the dustâ€æthey look like a pressure of nature. Hand-picked specimens of the famed Bhimthadi or Deccani horse, one can virtually think about the creatures amongst their ancestors within the seventeenth and 18th centuries, in a troop of Maratha horsemen, charging on the enemy and driving them off the sector.
