Selleck steps into Chandler’s sneakers
Imagine taking part in Chandler Bing on “Friends” – that is what Tom Selleck did! In a unusual episode, Selleck’s character, Richard Burke, determined to be a bit extra Chandler-esque. Selleck spilled the beans, saying, “We had this role reversal thing going, where (Richard) tried to be like them, and them like me.”

Mastering the Chandler communicate
Turns out, imitating Chandler wasn’t a stroll within the park for Selleck. He struggled with Perry’s sarcastic supply, particularly for a line about foosball abilities: “Could that shot be any prettier?” Selleck confesses, “Matthew had this speech pattern that I hadn’t been aware of.” Seeking steering, he went straight to the supply – Perry himself.
Perry’s signature line

Selleck, now 78, joined “Friends” in Season 2, forming a particular bond with Perry’s father, actor John Bennett Perry. Missed memorial, actual friendship
Perry’s passing in October left a void. Selleck was touched to be invited to a personal memorial with the “Friends” solid however could not make it attributable to his New York taking pictures schedule.
