New Delhi: India’s retail inflation eased to a three-month low of 5.10 per cent in January 2024 primarily attributable to diminished meals costs, the information launched by the National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) mentioned on Monday.
Inflation primarily based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was at 5.69 per cent in December 2023 and 6.52 per cent in January 2024.

According to the federal government knowledge, the CPI rural stood at 5.34 per cent and the CPI city was at 4.92 per cent. Meanwhile, the mixed CPI inflation for January 2024 stood at 5.10 per cent.

According to the information launched by the National Statistical Office (NSO), retail inflation within the meals basket was at 8.3 per cent in January 2024, down from 9.53 per cent within the previous month.
