Domestic passenger car wholesales surged by 14 per cent year-on-year to three,93,074 items final month, marking the all-time efficiency for January in line with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Comparatively, in January 2023, dispatches of passenger autos from producers to sellers stood at 3,46,080 items.

Two-wheeler wholesales additionally witnessed important development, rising by 26 per cent to 14,95,183 items final month, in comparison with 11,84,376 items in January of the earlier 12 months.

Vinod Aggarwal, President of SIAM, attributed the resilient efficiency of passenger car gross sales to constructive client sentiments, whereas highlighting the robust development within the two-wheeler section, significantly pushed by the restoration in rural markets.

“Passenger vehicle sales have remained resilient led by positive consumer sentiments, while the two-wheeler segment witnessed good growth in January as well as the rural market continues to recover,” he stated.

Although the business car sector didn’t exhibit development in January 2024, Aggarwal expressed optimism a couple of potential uptick within the subsequent two months of the monetary 12 months.

Meanwhile, three-wheeler wholesales noticed a 9 per cent development, reaching 53,537 items as in comparison with 48,903 items in January 2023.

Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, famous that each passenger autos and three-wheelers have achieved their highest-ever gross sales for the interval of April to January in FY 24, underscoring the sustained development in these segments.
