As per the passenger named Parmanand kumar Saw, the incident happened on the Tatanagar-Katihar Express.

Sharing his displeasure, he wrote that the girl boarded the prepare in Asansol, and had spent your complete evening smoking “marijuana and cigarettes”. He wrote, “Yah log Asansol mein chadhi thi Tata Katihar prepare mein”. In response to his tweet, Railway Seva requested extra info on the journey. 

“Sir, we request you to please share the journey particulars (PNR/Train No.) and Mobile No. with us ideally by way of DM. You might also increase your concern straight on or dial 139 for quick redressal,” wrote Railway Seva. 

In the same incidence, a video of man smoking on a prepare went viral, after a passenger named Manish Jain shared the video on Twitter. As per the data shared by the passenger, an RPF personnel got here to the prepare’s coach at Bandikui Station within the Dausa District of Rajasthan and warned the younger males to not smoke on the prepare. 

Laws for smoking in trains

Smoking cigarettes in public locations is prohibited by legislation below Section 278 of the Indian Penal Code. Similarly, below Section 167 of the Railways Act, smoking in trains is prohibited. Also, in keeping with Section 20 of the NDPS Act, holding a small amount of marijuana is a punishable offence.
